Manuka honey is a rare and pure honey (unpasteurized) harvested by bees in the pristine areas of New Zealand and has a significant content of Manuka pollen. It has an excellent taste and has been a traditional Maori physician, for years. It has a therapeutic use for the common cold, sore throat, hoarseness, cough and other common winter viral infections. At the same time, it has been used to protect the digestive system as well as a patch on microtraverses or skin diseases.
After scientific research in Europe and Asia, it was found that Manuka honey contains the highest content of natural enzymes with antibacterial properties, called Methylglyoxal or MGO, from any other honey. The result is to be included in the list of superfoods that contribute to both the general well-being of the body (immune system, blood circulation, etc.) and to maintaining hydration of the epidermis (improving the skin's appearance thanks to healing and anti-inflammatory its properties).
